After struggling for some time in the battle against the slugs in my garden, I was surprised to find how well Slug Gone works. As an organic gardener with pets, I wanted a safe alternative to the more brutal slug repellants on the market. In the past I’ve tried everything (copper tape/egg shells/coir mating etc) but although these things worked for a short time, it was a bit hit and miss. With Slug Gone, I’ve only applied a little ring around each plant. The pellets form an impenetrable ‘wall’ once wet. The slugs have not gone near my seedling or larger plants since application! To be honest it smells a little dung-like, but this disappears within a couple of days. I’ve been very impressed and my plants are strong and no longer munched on!

Used as directed but plants still eaten
I bought a bag to test if it works, as my parents had recommended the product. It was used as directed around 3 plants (2 home grown Greater Knapweed that I planted out and 1 recently planted mature French Lavender that was being attacked). The plants were in the ground rather than pots or containers. Within 2 days the first Knapweed was eaten and within 3-4 days the other as well and I had to pick massive slugs off the Lavender. In summary my test showed the product as completely ineffective.

Organic rubbish
It is not the fault of the supplier, but the stuff just does not work. I don't know how the manufacturer puts the product through quality control and thinks it is effective. Waste of money.

Useless
Thinking these would be a good buy we went for these over the slug pellets we usually order. How wrong we were. Instead of keeping slugs at bay these pellets seemed to encourage them. Our plants have suffered more than any other year because of these so we binned them and went back to our normal pellets. These were a very disappointing purchase. BUZZ

Does NOT do what it says on the tin.
I used this product to protect my peas and dwarf beans from snails and slugs. It was absolutely useless. My peas and dwarf bean plants were decimated. Really disappointed.
