I bought this product as a replacement for my 92 year old father. It has all the same features that you would find on any aerage cell phone. The one big difference is the size of the keys. They are larger then the average cell phone and easier for my father to handle and use. I added 9 quick dial phone numbers so its even easier to use by touching 2 buttons. The last one had lasted almost 3 years. At $50, it is a great value and more importantly, we did not have to use an eligibility. Its always best when we don't have to lock into a two year contract.
No frills phone. No camera. Just calls and texting. Has more features on it than i anticipated for the price (i paid $35 for it used and it looked new). PRO'S: One touch 911 key; One touch ICE (In Case of Emergency) key that has a notes area for personal, medical, type info. CON'S: Not much variety on wallpaper or ringtones; Vibrate alert will only work with incoming calls and not text messages; Locks texting out while it receives a new message (just a couple of seconds, but can get bothersome). I would recommend this phone to a friend.
For an older individual this phone is much easier to use. Very simple to work, it has larger buttons and few features. There is no camera, but the phone is easy to program.Having a cradle charger makes it easy to charge the phone. No need to plug in a charger cable to the input of the phone. Negative is that the user can sometimes turn off the volume of the phone's ringer because the volume control buttons are on the side.
This is the the 3rd Knack I've purchased for my now 92 year old mother. (She washed the last one.) It's easy for her to use. She doesn't need all the bells and whistles. It is too easy to lower the volume to where she can't hear it, because it's where you hold the phone on the side and there's no way to turn that off. The buttons are a little stiff but she's got the long-used bony pointer finger most moms have so she can punch it :)
This is a great phone for sight challenged users. Big numbers, easy to read text, very few bells & whistles, no camera, dedicated 911 button as well as dedicated ICE button. Good sound, easy on off speaker, fairly easy to learn. Average to poor ring tones, NO INTERNET connection, so no Backup Assistant. Texting could be a little slicker but it gets the job done. Excellent first phone for aging parents!
