    Must have for 10/22

    I know this gets said a lot, but really, this should be the first thing anyone adds to a new 10/22. I kept having FTE, stovepipes, and jamming with my Ruger with different ammo types (mostly use Federal and CCI). I first suspected dirty magazines since some didn't seem to feed past the lips. I bought this extractor, and could see the difference right away- the factory extractor was a little janky and not very precise, and the Volquartsen has a perfect edge. I ran nearly 300 CCI bulk rounds through it next time and had zero problems whatsoever, both slow and fast fire.

    Volquartsen exact extractor upgrade

    Putting the new extractor side by side with an older one from my 1977 10-22, I couldn't see any difference in shape or contour. There was a slight thickness difference in that the new extractor was about .006 thinner. All rifles have many factors which can lead to extraction issues, the only way to see if this part is of benefit is to replace it and test fire a few hundred rounds.

    I have had a lot of jamming issues with my Ruger 10/22. I couldn't go through a 10 round magazine without it jamming once or twice. This part was simple to put in and I have not had a single jamming issue since. I recommend this product to anyone with a Ruger 10/22 as it is a great product and worth the money.

    If you have a 10/22, and you want your gun to run reliably, you need to install this.

    This is a must have upgrade. My 10/22 wasn't reliable until I installed this kit. I had the same experience with the M&P 15-22 as well. For some reason, I guess Volquartsen is the only company that understands how to manufacture extractors...

    Exact Edge

    The Exact Edge is designed to do what it does and does it well. My problem is not the extractor. After two extractors I have come to realize my problem is with the BX 25 Magazines. The Volquartsen extractor has a different size spring length wide than the factory. And because of this, I gave it 4 stars. I think it needs to be stiffer. I went back to the factory spring for this reason.
