Never got a chance to use, yet. Decided to try and clean the drain hole first. Ran hot water down from freezer and stuck a piece of wire in the hole in back, at bottom of refrigerator and out came wet dust bunnies or something. Refrigerator worked great again after that. At least I have the SUPCO timer control for a future emergency. I have read great reviews about it throughout the internet house.

This isn't really a "universal" timer and there is no way to adapt it to different wiring schemes. I've used several on different model refrigerators and all have been reliable on the defrost cycle. One fridge I tried it on and it didn't work properly. I checked the wiring diagram on the unit and it was somewhat 'unusual' and needed an actual motor/switch timer wired to fit it.

It is a good timer, however, it is not made for humid conditions. It does not seem to be sealed properly. The switch over button in the back is a weak point for that matter. Water will penetrate and rust will eventually take place around it.
