Works great, once I figured out what port the USB cable connected to on my PC. Makes programming this hand held very easy using the Kenwood supplied software which runs on Microsoft Windows.

I am not sure why but I got 2 of these Items and can't get the software to load on my computer. I am using windows 10 and now where was it said that anything about an operating system needed. The radio has to have this programing software to work but if you can't get the software load it is no good. So now I have 3 items that I can't use. Just be carefull.

Cable works fine but had to jump through hoops to find out software used then my radio not in user list so did a lot of t&e to get it to work, cable was worth what I paid for the package just junk software

Cable works but poor quality. I'd rather pay the additional $2-3 to have a USB connection that doesn't wiggle in its own housing. It does read/write the radio but not sure for how long.
