      access to trouble codes

      great little tool for reading and clearing DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) while it does have access to live data stream, your limited in your choice of items, no injector info or ability to perform self tests but for the price it's outstanding and gives you a "leg up" The battery state opening window is a great idea

      Code reader

      You get what you pay for. It'll read codes but won't erase. Without the right literature, the codes are indecipherable. But it does read them on our Freightliners and our Sterling. Haven't tried it on obdII yet.
