About this product

Product Information

When used on digital SLR cameras the AT-X M35 PRO DX lens gives the same angle of view as a 52mm lens. The close focusing distance of the M35 is an amazingly close 5.5-inch yielding a macro ratio of 1:1 or life-sized reproduction with excellent sharpness. Its compact size makes it easy to carry almost everywhere and the wide f/2.8 aperture allows for easier viewing in low light situations. The front element of the AT-X M35 PRO DX has a formulated WR or "Water Repellent" optical coating on the glass. This coating makes marks such as spots left by water or finger-prints much easier to clean than standard multi-coating.Tokina's exclusive one-touch focus clutch mechanism allows the photographer to switch between AF and MF simply by snapping the focus ring forward for AF and back toward the camera to focus manually.

  • Awesome Lens!

This particular lens was made for the "crop body" cameras, although I personally use it on my 5d "full frame" camera and it works amazingly! The corners do round off slightly but nothing to complain about. It's easily cropped. My initial thought was to purchase the Canon 35mm f2 but when I saw the price difference, I had to at least give tokina a try. Tokina is the main lens I use, from wide angle to zoom and have never had any problems. I've compared their quality to L lenses I've owned and I see no significant difference besides the physical color of the lenses and price of course. But quality is spot on and can compare with Canon Ls. You can't go wrong with the Tokina 35mm prime. Specially with it's macro capabilities allows you to focus at a mear 5". WOW! The only deterent for ...

  • Very good as a regular lens on DX

Very pleased with the purchase of this lens. I chose it for a long time, watched him and read reviews. but when I tried this lens on the case, the result exceeded all my expectations. Very nice lens, price and quality is very good. lens is very sharp, even at aperture 2.8. A convenient focal length of 35 mm. Plus, everything else has macro mode. the only thing that might alienate fans of quality close-up that distance to the subject a little, which is 10 cm and so the lens is pretty good for its price, it justifies all 150%. Very good as a regular lens on DX. Would recommend.

  • Great multi purpose normal lens.

Very sharp normal lens on dx cameras. Equal to about a 52.5mm on dx cameras. Fast enough for most low light conditions. Light enough to carry around all day for general shots, lenses of this focal length usually compared to ones general angle of vision if that's on your plate for the day. A plus, two lenses in one if you're into close up photography you have the macro setting on this lens.
