This book is chock full of info about global warming, and is amazingly readable to boot. But it is written in very biased voice, which really put me off -- Tim Flannery is a scientist, so he should know perfectly well how to write in an objective voice. He states a lot of evidence which he fails to cite, and makes a lot of unsupported assertions that may or may not have evidence. But, throughout, he does make specific citations fairly regularly, and gives enough information that you can easily research it when you don't trust him. The last couple of sections of the book talk more about policy, potential effects, and solutions to global warming. Overall, I think he does a great job of conveying information and making it "available" for everyone, but I think the book would be more persuasive if he weren't trying so hard to BE persuasive. But, in the end, I suppose if he didn't write with the passion of his point of view, the book may not be so readable...Read full review
