I have to admit that I am a huge fan of this show on every level one can imagine. I would not change one cast member. I have no criticism of the plots or the direction this show takes over the course of any season. I think the 3rd season makes a logical progression in the development of the characters. It makes sense and it works for me the viewer. The characters are credible and the stories make sense enough for me to feel that I am seeing how Delta Force works. This show does not receive the attenton it deserves and that is unfortunate. My awareness, through watching this show, taught me how poorly the Pentagon and the U.S. Congress treat our military heroes one and all. It reminds me, the viewer, that it is always important to vote for real people and not for stuffed shirt political sissies that cut and run from world conflicts. Delta Force never runs from a fight and always gets their objectives met. For some, that may mean a predictable plot line criticsm applies but those people would be wrong. This 3rd season also reminds the viewer that our men and women in uniform are often used as pawns by: the government, the military establishment, and the military industrial complex. You cannot watch "The Unit" without feeling, at even some small level, that we have the greatest country in the world...in spite of our problems. Watching this show gives me reason to feel proud of our military men and women. Eric L. Haney contributes so much to this program that I imagine some of these plots happened to him or his team members. The price for this DVD was also a factor in buying on ebay.Read full review
I'm a retired military vet and this is one of my favorite shows. Mostly every episode I saw was very well written and acted. The story lines are faced by many vets that I had the honor to serve with as well as the challenges to their families on the home front. The lost of a key character was felt. The leadership of Sergeant Major is like most of the senior enlisted people that I worked with from all branches of the services (I served in 2 joint service units in my 20 years of service). The chemistry is very equal to what I missed with I retired and it is eye opening to people I know who won't around military personnel and their families. Even the negative story line for the dysfunctional second highest ranking noncommissioned officer (Master Sergeant Gerhardt) and his wife, it gives a real look that few do face. This series, JAG, and NCIS are excellent view points for the Navy as what I saw from the military stand point of the Stargate series for the Air Force. The men and women of our armed forces need something to show their dedication and sacrifices for our freedoms. The Unit is one of those platforms.Read full review
Great show, great seller. My wife and I have enjoyed this series so much that we have watched every episode. It gives us something to do together. I enjoy the action she enjoys the family issues that are addressed. We sit down together to watch one show and when it is over one of us looks at the other and says one more? We very seldom watch less than three shows in a sitting. Our son and daughter in law who got us hooked on this series starting with episode #1 have the same "problem". Don't watch the last show of season two unless you already have season three or you will regret it (because it is a cliff hanger)! That will definately be a three show night.
You just have to see it your self I spent the weekend watched the whole 3rd season like taking a ride on the wild side.

Another one of those shows that balances military life in the field and off.
