Bought the book on recommendation of my personal doctor. It reveals the problems discovered by too much fructose in one's diet. There is a lobby from the corn-based sweetner industry to try to mask the bad effects. I since checked out some of the backup references and it looks like the book is based on facts and science. No "male bovine manure" was detected in the writings. I tried the "2-week" "fructose detox phase" and lost ten pounds in three weeks, one inch of waist girth, and gained about fifteen bucks' savings in my average weekly grocery bill, so for me it worked. Book also taught me how to reduce my blood uric acid count. Blood pressure dropped, too. Yea !
I didn't even know about the dangers of high fructose corn syrup when I started a diet early in 2008. By the time I picked this book up, I had lost 20 pounds, and for the most part had only cut out sodas, not much else. The book paralleled my own experience, in that many of the author's patients had experienced the same results. It convinced me to be more observant of what I am buying. Get this book, and take its message to heart.
