When will book three be released???!!!???

This is mature fantasy at its best. Compelling characters, strong storyline, plot, great writing. My only advice is not to read the first two books until the third book is released. Otherwise you will be as frustrated as the rest of us who have been waiting for the last three years for the next chapter in this amazing saga.

  • "The Name of the Wind" is a GEM

What an gem I found when I picked up this book. As an avid fantasy reader I was somewhat uncertain about another "coming of age" book about a boy that endures hardships as a child and has to overcome them to be come the hero. This has been done so much in the past, however this book takes the age old theme and reinvents it. The hero, is not your typical noble and gallant hero, but a person who's been forced to make tough decisions in his life, who has made mistakes, and had to live with them. Rothfuss takes the reader through a gamut of emotions and leads you through the story with a sense of anticipation and excitement. The magic model of this story is also very unique and is very believable. While fantasy stories always require a certain level of "suspension of disbelief" in order to ...

  • Engrossing!

Absolutely engrossing! I read "Fear of a Wise Man" first, because my husband gave it to me for Christmas. I loved it so much I had a hard time coming to the end, so I ordered "The Name of the Wind". I really had a hard time waiting for it to come in, but am so glad I ordered it. Patrick Rothfuss is an extremely exceptional writer! I have searched for more of his book and found two. One I have bought, and am waiting excitedly to get, and the other is extremely too expensive, as of yet! I very seldom find any author I totally love, but I LOVE the works of Patrick Rothfuss! The only thing I can honestly say I dislike is that I thought I had ordered a hardback and received a paperback. I never read a book more than once, or keep them once I have read them, but I WILL be KEEPING these!

  • Amazing read

I actually already read this book (borrowed from a friend) before ordering it, but it was so good I had to buy myself a copy! Unique fantasy story that doesn't have your typical machismo male protagonist nor is his love interest a flimsy damsel in distress. Amazing world building and great character development. Doesn't even feel like your reading fantasy some of the time because the world and character is so relatable. Definitely recommend!

  • Engaging story told by a master storyteller...

Great story so far. I've already ordered the second book in the series! It's well written, especially for it being the author's first book.
