This was the first gluten free book that I bought. Bette Hagman has made the transition to cooking gluten free much easier! I was really worried about being able to stay on a GF diet, because there's nothing better than freshly baked bread. Bette's Gluten Free Gourmet books are truely a godsend. I can hardly keep the Cheese Nips's in the house (my husband keeps eating them all). I have even tried her suggestion of wrapping them around hot dogs. My husband says he likes that version better than the one I used to make with croissants. The Challah, Basic Carrot,& New French breads are very good too! I really like her description of the different flours. Her flour mixtures make it easier to make something up as needed. Yesterday, my husband made pancakes for our grandchildren because I already had the dry ingredients mixed in the freezer(he probably wouldn't have made them otherwise). None of us can tell the difference in these pancakes, compared to regular wheat flour ones!!Read full review
If you are going gluten free and love to bake, this is the book for you. I lived for homemade bread and my diagnosis came as a real blow until I discovered Bette Hagman. She has spent time working out the ingredients for the best GF bread around; infinitely better than anything you can buy store-bought and worth an investment in a bread machine. Her other books are also well worth the investment if you are having to rearrange your life around GF. Good stuff!
Sadly, I have not been able to use any of the recipes in the book, because I have to buy the ingredients online, and I am on a limited income. I live in a small town and there is no place for me to buy them here. At least, it's letting me know what I need to buy when I get the money.

This recipe book has many simple yummy recipes. They are well organized and the pictures makes so very tempting. I bought this for my husband who suffers from Celiac. He enjoys baking and now can enjoy eating bread that will not make him sick. Our whole family enjoys the bread he bakes!
Great Book. FeatherLight Bread recipe tastes just like home-made real bread. Even made the bread and used it for stuffing on Thanksgiving. This is the closest I have come to eating bread that is gluten free, but tastes like real bread. And I don't have to spend $5.00 a loaf at the grocery store! Great book for those who cannot tolerate gluten.
