The second volume in Dante's Divine Comedy Beginning with Dante's liberation from Hell, Purgatory relates his ascent, accompanied by Virgil, of the Mount of Purgatory - a mountain of nine levels, formed from rock forced upwards when God threw Satan into depths of the earth.     Timeless

    The Divine Comedy is a classic, but it has 3 parts and for some reason I had a difficult time finding Volume II: Purgatory.

    Dante's Purgatory

    Mark Musa's entire three volumes is a good translation for the first-time reader. The notes explain well what is going on.
