This is a great, quick reference book and also fun to sit down with and just explore. I lost my copy I’ve had for years and was happy to find a replacement.

Book has very brief overviews. If you're looking for a 'coffee table' book, this one may not be for you, however. It is a pretty thick book, but small in total size and pictures of artwork are small.

Good introduction to art history but not every artwork image is the best quality & be be ridiculously small size, even for this book, better off getting art prints if you want certain paintings, the quality is much better

I borrowed this book from a friend while preparing for an teaching certification exam. I enjoyed the book because it was very user-friendly, and cross-references the artist with the movement they were associated with, not to mention name other artists of that movement. I found myself browsing the book because I found it so interesting. I am happy to report that I passed my exam, and since I am an Art teacher hopeful, decided that I wanted to have it in my collection. I read it cover to cover, and went on to purchase the 20th Century Art Book. I will add the Children's edition to my "library" as well.
