I had so many good belly laughs watching this great movie!! Doris Day is her cute, perky blonde self with her soft, goofy voice. Her infatuation with the stoic, quick-mouthed Cary Grant is fun, fun, fun. Hands down, a new favorite that takes my mind off the seriousness of the world and puts me into the world of relaxation and enjoyment. Most modern movies don’t have this effect on me.

It has been so many decades since I last watched this movie that I had forgotten most of it. It was made when films still retained dignity, class, morals, and more subtle humor. The characters wittily talk around issues rather than throw them in your face with physical and verbal crudity. In other words, it's sophisticated. Of course, Cary Grant is always entertaining. What woman doesn't desire him and what man doesn't want to emulate him? Ditto for Doris Day—just reverse the man and woman part (well, for most of us anyway). Gig Young provided yeoman service as comic relief, but the real scene stealer was John Astin (aka Gomez Addams) as the incredibly cheap and sleazy opportunist who is always trying to seduce Ms Day's character. My only complaint is the DVD was showing some wear and tear. There was a five-second blackout at the beginning and a couple of short scenes were jittery. The overall quality of the print was okay, but not as crisp and sharp as I would have liked. It was still easily viewable, especially for such a low price.Read full review

What more can you say about Doris Day? She shined in every role she portrays and especially in this one, where in which she portrays a woman down on her luck. While out looking for a new job she runs into a man who not only challenges her feminity, but her morality as well. Wonderful costuming and a overall wonderful film. I love the tanacity that Doris's character brings to the table in this film. She will not be treated like an object, no way, no how or will she if the price is right? You will have to watch and find out. Definately a must have to own in any true chick, flick, film, collectors, library. Think Mink with Doris!!!! **If you found this information at all helpful, please take a moment to select the "yes" button below. Great story, great characters, great performances!!! Gary Grant, as always, portrays his character with class, character, and humor. Doris Day is marvelous, and so, so Doris Day. While there is no singing or dancing, she definitely is musical in her performance. The casting of the leads makes the movie, which other wise, would have been just another romantic flick. A beautiful bonus was the outstanding contribution that both Audrey Meadows and Gig Young added to the picture. A must see for all Cary Grant and Doris Day fans ......

i liked the story line in general. very solid cast. has alot of funny quips from grant and a solid cinematic style. but the story does drag a bit in the middle. it starts out great runs aground inbetween and then takes off at the end. I think i loved the script that was written for grant. they always give him such witty barbs to intercede for characters. i would recommend it for everyone. but i don't think it will apeal to everyone. not as good a s pillow talk or north by northwest. but grant or day lovers will enjoy
