All in all the device really isn't relevant any longer as an oscilloscope, you can buy them dirt cheap and they will do super basic functions. But I had another purpose for this very well constructed highly reliable device, it's going to be re-purposed as a curve tracer, it's only requirement is XY mode and it has it. Really such a nice classic piece of kit. Good times.

I really like this scope. It is pretty basic and has all of the things you need but nothing extra. I am used to DSOs, so not being able to store waveforms to slowly analyze (such as a non repeating pulse) is something I will just have to get used to. As far as I can tell, the Tektronix 2205 does not have any hold off control which can be a problem. You can work around it awkwardly, but if that is something you think you will be using a lot you might consider a different model such as the Tektronix 2225. Overall though, I am quite happy with this 2205 and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an old clunker scope!
