I bought this for my truck camper, but in retrospect, it's so convenient for getting in the back of the truck that I'm glad I added it whether I had a truck camper or not. I really like this tail gate step, especially because I could set it up so that the steps landed on the sidewalk side of my truck rather than straight out the back. It was pretty easy to install and it took only about 45 minutes. My only complaint is that the velcro strap they give you to secure the gate isn't so great. It is likely I will replace it with something else.

Generally, this is a good solution for those of us who can no longer leap up onto the tailgate. It's compact and convenient, although there are a few things I might change - - It wobbles when you go up/down! I might try replacing the quick-release clips with nuts & bolts to see if that helps, although that would mean it was no longer quick-release. - The steps are narrow. Climbing barefoot is going to be out of the question for most of us. Some people have bolted strips of wide wood on the rungs - something else I may try. - The strap that retains the ladder when it's folded up against the tairgate is a little shaky. It works, but is not as precise as I would like. Despite my changes, it's a nice little solution to a problem I've been having climbing up into the bed for a long time.

This is my second Traxion ladder. I had one on my first truck and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for help getting into their truck bed. It is assistance and very stable. Since it rests on the ground it doesn't strain the tail gate. If you don't mind drilling 6 small holes in the tail gate this is for you. One caution if you have a cover on your bed ensure the mounting plate does not interfere with the cover latch mechanism when the gate is closed. (From experience). The price is great also.

A good option to the expensive drop down step offered by oem's that often are obstructed by the tailgate when opened. The ladder is strong and easy to install. Climbing in or out of the truck is effortless after the install. Some reviewers have commented that they thought the painting could be better. It appears to be a standard powdercoat finish shat should be fine. I pan on using a can of bed liner spray on it however to make it more slip resistant and match the bed.

It has a good, simple design. Easy to install, about 30 minutes and nice that the length can be adjusted if need be. I would suggest utilizing all the available screw holes in the plate, just for added strength. The one downfall is that the screws provided are of poor quality and the phillips drive stripped out almost immediately. Fortunately I had enough hex drive screws, same length and size, that saved me a 40 mile trip to the hardware store.
