My rear brakes were very spongy, no breaking whatsoever. Insert the cup in the bleeder hole and don’t forget the O-ring first, a little fluid in the bottom of the cup, flick the brake lever about 20 times or until all the air stops coming up to the top, remove the cup and put the bleeder screw back on. Brakes were very firm after that. You don’t need a complete brake bleeder set up.
