It actually catches the crafty little buggers in my neighborhood, sometimes. If they go in it they wont get out, but, getting them to go in it is not as easy as you might think. Those in my neighborhood are not starving so it has to be something really good to entice them. Plus it apparently takes a few days for them to get used to the trap's presence so don't get impatient (easy to say). Keep the food fresh but otherwise leave it alone. If you also supply some water and shade the trapped ones seem to attract others.

LI finally set the trap last night. I set it the night before but the boys next door stole the can of cat food to feed their porch cats. I just baited with scratch last night. Had 2 big and a mid sized rat in it this morning. Filled the tub and lowered them in. Had a hell of a time getting the dead rats out. They crawled into the tightest places to escape the water. All in all, this trap works. I hope it keeps working. I need my chicken food for the chickens not the rats. Chickens are why I won't poison.

Got a rat problem that the snap traps just can't handle? THIS is the solution. Bait and the open for 2 nights. (So word can spread about the hot new restaurant.) Then set and see the Results! 50+ in two nights! Bet you didn't think there were that many either.... If you're a PETA person, you can release them in someone else's yard, but if you're not , you will have to find another method of disposal. Luckily enough a basin the cage fits in is provided as well. Host swimming lessons. Or start a rat fight club....
