Great Solution to a Common Problem
I was hesitant about ordering this part, wondering whether it would fit properly and whether it would be of similar quality to the factory fitted item. I inspected the bearing housing carefully prior to installation and it appeared to be of similar quality to the original part. It will be interesting to see how it stands up over time. Installing the bearing was straightforward and it fitted beautifully. I have now tested my FS38 strimmer extensively and the wobble on the cutting head is cured. In fact, the machine now performs much the way it did when it was new. I have been told that Stihl will only sell you the entire shaft assembly. So if you own one of the relevant models and your cutting head has begun to wobble noticeably, this bearing housing would seem to be a much cheaper and very satisfactory alternative.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Hey it’s the best deal in town, apparently this part is unavailable to US dealers. FYI, the pat installed easily and function flawlessly. But if you want it you have to buy it out of the UK. Extremely easy to fit. Remove the cord holder and one screw that holds the cord shield on to the strimmer and the bearing assembly can be pulled out. Push in new bearing assembly making sure to line up the hole in the strimmer with the screw hole in the bearing assembly, replace screw and cord holder. Job done.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
