there are not many eSATAp enclosures out there this is arguably the cheapest.
does the job but the aSATA cable lacks the "p". For that you have to use up a USB socket just for the power. Or use the supplied power pack.
But if you buy a genuine eSATAp cable (rarer still) it does what the eSATAp inventors intended.
It has USB 3 as well so when you buy a new laptop it is ready.
registering the HDD on your machine may prove technical, right click on MyComputer Manage Disk Management then (maybe format) make primary partition and give it a letter. Though this may be the Disk creating that need.
