For almost ten year old technology, the Sony Air System has much to like, especially at eBay prices. I doubt I would have considered it a good value at its original price point. For relatively small speakers, the sound is room filling. However, as a big fan of stereo sound, I wish it had some option for an external right or left external speaker so there would be much more sound separation than can be achieved in one small container. This seems to me a problem with most all of the current bluetooth sound systems. Manufacturers and perhaps consumers have forgotten how wonderfully full true stereo sound can be, even in tabletop systems. My only other negative for this product is that the function buttons are hard to read for an older person with reduced eyesight. Perhaps a more tactile set of buttons would help here, possibly with raised function symbols.Read full review

I bought this Sony Air SA10 system not for its speaker, but because I wanted to tie my Sony 3D DVD player into my Denon amp on the other side of the room. I just plugged a short plug cable from the earphone jack on the Sony into an input on the Denon. It works great and my Sony 5.1 system is now a 7.2 system, which sounds fantastic for both movies and music. The speaker in the unit also sounds good, but since I didn't buy it for that, I can't comment on it much. It has decent bass for its size and the amplifier is more than adequate for the unit.
When I first purchased my Sony receiver, I was tempted to by the S-Air transmitter and speakers, but it was so expensive that I decided it was too extravagant. 3 years later I find this product on eBay for a much more affordable price (though still not cheap) and decide to go for it. I live in an old farmhouse with many rooms on the first floor and no way to put wired speakers in each room without doing damage to the walls or running unsightly wire. I thought these would be ideal. For about $500 I was able to purchase the transmitter and 4 speakers. They connected flawlessly (unlike some other reviews I've read). There are 2 complaints that I have. One is that the sound is less than great. I just purchased a JBL Flip speaker to connect to my iPad and iPhone and the sound from that little $99 speaker is far superior to the S-Air speakers. The other issue I have is that the connection is inconsistant. All of the speakers are within 15 feet of the receiver and all it takes is walking near a speaker for it to lose it's connection momentarily...which may not seem like a big deal, but when you are listening to music it is quite annoying. If I had known the poor sound quality of these speakers I probably would have spent that $500 on a newer receiver with different technology for wireless speakers. I believe there is good reason that these have been discontinued. It's just odd that none of the reviews I read addressed the poor sound quality.Read full review
Sony AIR-SA10 Speaker System w/ Transceiver card. Came very fast. The Sony AIR-SA10 Speaker System w/ Transceiver card works very well. The Sony AIR-SA10 Speaker System w/ Transceiver card looks like a brand new unit. Sony AIR-SA10 Speaker System w/ Transceiver card was easy to set up. Kudos!
Got a broken one with a used Sony 5 disc dvd player, noticed the transceiver setup and expected a hassle. Really pleased when it just worked and connected right away.
