This PDA is loaded with features. The OS version is 4.1, the screen is so clear that contents on the screen seemed to be printed on. Applications that I used to run on older devices seem to come alive when I ran it in this device. I bought this device because of the great clarity and resolution. I have always enjoyed Sony products and you can expand the memory with a memory stick. The SJ30's built-in lithium-ion battery delivers an acceptable amount of operating time. With the auto-off function disabled and the screen set to maximum brightness, the battery lasted 3 hours, 50 minutes. Sony includes a suite of CLIE programs with the SJ30, the most notable of which are geared toward showing off the handheld's high-resolution screen. PictureGear Pocket, when used with the included PictureGear Lite desktop application, lets you convert and view files on your PDA. Once you have images on the SJ30, you may either display them as a slide show in Photo Stand or edit and embellish them using CLIE Paint. I would recommend this PDA due to the very low price you can obtain this for on E-bay. Why spend $100’s of dollars when you can get this for approximately $25-35.00. Enough said.Read full review
I acquired this unit from a client as I am a Trading Assistant. It operates on the Palm system, not a preference, but I remain unbiased for testing purposes. Overall, I was quite pleased. It would serve the needs of an individual that needs to be organizes, without the bells and whistles. I tested it for a day. SIZE My favorite feature. It's just so tiny compared to other PDA's! Length 2 1/2 in Width 1 1/2 in. x Height 4 in. My hand is small (a woman's size small glove) and it nestled easily with a one hand operation. It fit neatly in the front pocket of sweat pants as well as the smaller back pockets. CHARGES I bought a USB sync charger to test it and at 30 minutes the battery charged for an 75 minutes of high light heavy use. I was impressed. SCREEN RESOLUTION Considering that the unit is 6 years old, the resolution was impressive as well; at 320 x 320 the colors are adequate. I played with it in various lights, in the dark as well as sunlight. Of course my eyes have been spoiled with the screens of late but again to look up a quick number or set an appointment, it served the purpose. PROGRAMS I use my PDA for Excel, Word, and the Address Book feature. The unit does not include the MS Programs, but can be used with MS Pocket. With the proper software, it can be easily synced with the PC or MAC. The alarm was largely displayed, but I would have liked a higher volume. The calculator program was lovely; large and stylus not needed. FEATURES AND BUTTONS It had an ability to beam, although I did not test the feature. The jog dial on the side was a convenient and needed feature. This seems to be a Sony Signature as the jog dials are built into Vaio's as well. PICTURE FEATURES Sony packed it's own software in the unit, such as pictures and movies. I did not test for those featurers. A large assortment of software remains available however. OVERALL A neatly packed organizing tool in a small package.Read full review
I love this product. It was what I wanted and expected. Took a little bit to learn how to use and still getting used to it but so much better than a huge planner and I can dowload ebooks to it which I have loved ! :)
I won the Sony Clie for a very good price compare to a store. Has more than expected of programs to use. Great for a busy on the go type person to keep you on track of your life tasks. I got it due to trying to get somewhat of an order to my life. Hope it works. Soon as I learn how to use it to my advantage.
