This is a movie I remember seeing as a kid. It's the Three Stooges. While Curly Joe is no Curly Howard, it's still the best Three Stooges movie in my humble opinion. A wonderful fantasy with beautiful princesses, wicked witches, magic swords and the comedic antics of the three stooges. A great film.

A good, entertaining movie for the whole family. Nothing spectacular, but good to watch. I saw this movie back in the 1970's and was thrilled to see it again. Definitely, watching this as a kid was much better than seeing this today, as an adult, But isn't that true with most shows from our past? I guess the best thing to say is if your thinking this is going to be the crazy Three Stooges that we all know and love, you will be wrong. Its a much "watered down" version of them and probably done, back then, purposely since they are trying to please the kiddies as well as the adults and make it more mainstream. The jokes really aren't there and alas, Curly Joe just doesn't replace the original Curly, who had already gotten out of performing (illness and early death). For some reason, I felt Curly Joe, in this film was maybe a little more lovable and less funny. I do like Curly Joe in here just because of his tenderness. The cast is good and the evil characters are very engaging to say the least. The Count Oger looks VERY similar to the great Basil Rathbone of the times. It probably runs about a half an hour too long mostly due to the skating sequences throughout the film, which is quite boring, after a while. Overall, I still recommend it as a good family night movie.Read full review

Possibly currently one of the more obscure stooge films from the period but this one certainly has an unintentional “quirky” charm given from all places, the surrounding characters. From misshapen heads to oddly timed reactions of the supporting cast I must conclude they did enjoy themselves while making the movie. That being said if you are a Three Stooges fan you might feel shortchanged if not knowing the stooge line-up does not include Shemp or Curly but casts Curly Joe, who joined the stooges in their later years. The story execution and musical numbers are mildly amusing but the Moe/Larry antics and the efforts of the additional characters makes viewing this film quite a bit less than a complete waste of time. Okay yes. . . that sounds harsh, but I will say I do like this vintage piece and I do own it. So for now I rate it as Average. Which ain’t bad. By the way. If you enjoy good ice skating sequences then that’s an added bonus for your enjoyment.Read full review
I like the Stooges, and here they do a decent job as elder guardians of the true prince. I'm still undecided about all the ice-skating. It's a good movie, not great. Kids might like it even more.

This is a great movie for the entire family to watch. It deviates somewhat from the traditional Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. But it is a good movie with no offensive language, sexuality or extreme violence. I enjoyed the DVD and would recommend to family & friends.
