Quite a job getting the radio out of the dash in my 2005 Chevy SSR. The receiver was easy to connect to my OEM radio, and everything now works through my radio controls just like it had been factory installed. This is way nicer than the add on units that hang on the dash.

This easily adds Sirius satellite radio programming to select GM vehicles through the factory radio. However, for the first time, I have noticed the compression involved really limits some sound quality and depth. I also noticed that the radio sometimes will not resume satellite radio after starting the car, so I think I will move the power feed direct to the battery to see if that helps. If you replace the entire radio system, you may be happier, but with the GM radios on the data bus and providing maintenance menu access, this is a good compromise for keeping the stock radio.
