Probably the splashiest book put together by R.L. Wilson, it chronicles the extensive and colorful history of women and guns. The book is organzied into chapter that roughly run chronilogically from Dutch women defending their homes from the occupying Spaniards in the 16th century, through elegant court women shooting in palatial settings in the 18th century, through proper Victorian ladies blasting away, etc. The book is a visual feast of images, and can be overwhelming in its sheer volume. On of the signature techniques the author uses is to make a large collage of many related objects, to give the reader a feel of the period or subject, and of the material objects that are associated with it. Almost every chapter has one of these thematic collages in the beginning. But he uses them to excess, and the effect is numbing. The photo and image quality can vary widely, and can be offputting to those who appreciate such things. Still it is one of the few books on the subject, and definately the largest. Women and guns is a growing market and interest, and this book was certainly written with that in mind. Well worth having, especially for a good price.Read full review

This is another great book by R.L. Wilson. A must have for ones gun library. I only gave it a good rating because compared to his other firearm books this one doesn't have as much pictures for admiration.
