great for plastic descaler water filter O ring and plastic home humidifier connectors
We have a descaler (water filter) which was almost impossible to service because when it was screwed into its top holder it was very difficult to unscrew. While watching a youTube video about how to service these types of filters the plumbing expert in the video emphasized the importance of using a food grade silicone grease like this on the threads that hold the unit in place-- especially around the O ring seal. We've used this brand for 3 years now and it works great! Also, we have a Honeywell TrueSTEAM whole house humidifier connected to our heating system which needs to be cleaned every year and reassembled. The first year we cleaned this humidifier it was almost impossible to put back together because the plastic latch connector at the bottom of the unit where the drain hose latches together was almost impossible to latch back together after we had cleaned the unit. We got the idea to try some of this silicone grease there too and everything went together smoothly after that. It appears that this product is primarily used by scuba divers. I'm not a scuba diver so I can't comment on that. However, for do-it-yourself plumbers dealing with plastic (water exposed) parts that screw, latch or connect together this is a great product to have on hand! Trident 100% Pure Silicone Grease - Great Stuff.
This is a 100% pure silicone grease that is great to use on o-rings, valves, and other rubber/synthetic parts that need to be water proofed. Just make sure that the rubber/synthetic parts is compatible with using a silicone base grease, some materials are not compatible and will rot when used with silicone grease. As compared to other greases this one has no other additives in it, which is good for some things and bad for others. This grease is great for slow moving parts like faucet valve stems and other valves. It is a dielectric but there are far better greases out there that are better than this one for that function. Other dielectric greases have additives that allow the dielectric grease to last a lot longer and repeal weather a lot better. There is fumed silica added to this grease as a binder which only helps it to be slick stuff. Use it on rubber fins (for snorkeling) and masks and snorkels, it is great stuff.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is a good product, shipped quickly, I was a little surprised with how it looked in the container. Don't expect it to be full to the top. Best lubricant I've found for crossbows!
