I was not confident that the hub could hold an 11-speed cassette; however, with mountain parts, a 9-speed cassette is the same size as an 11-speed cassette. How cool! My only complaint about the setup would be the chain, as it does not include a chain with a master link. So, you better size your chain correctly since you really get one shot. This was a huge upgrade over the old drivetrain and was great value
