My collection of VHS tapes required a good playback unit. This one qualifies. I highly recommend Sharp VCR's made in India ONLY. Those made anywhere else are of poor quality. A Malaysian made unit purchased earlier had an electronic problem and after contacting Sharp Corporate, no parts are available at this late date. That unit I have now for parts. A win-win for me. I've watched numerous tapes on this machine and I am very satisfied with the picture quality and the machine's operation. The 992U units are highly recommended. If you need a VCR for tape playback, grab one of these.

This VCR arrived used, and it was kept in very good condition. It works fine, though the picture is a little wobbly at times. I can't seem to find a tracking button on the remote. Other than that, it has everything we would expect from a little family VCR for playing old tapes.

In this digital age VCRs are almost a thing of the past, but as far as VCRs go this is one of the better ones. Have had very good luck with Sharp for many years.

I just needed a vcr because mine was on the blanks and I don't feel like rebuying all the movies on DVD. This seems like a nice vhs player and it seems to be pretty sturdy.

I bought this unit To replace an older Sharps that finally give up the ghost after 20 plus years. That should tell you all you need to know about Sharps. This unit works great and for the price it didn't break the bank.
