- Step 2: Work in a well-lit area. Clear a horizontal workspace that is large enough to admit the dimensions of your TV, and place a cloth or other soft object on top of the workspace.
- Step 3: Lay the TV face-down on top of the cloth or soft object.
- Step 4: Locate the screws arranged around the edge of the back of the TV. Use a screwdriver to remove these screws. In most cases, these screws need a Phillips-head screwdriver.
- Step 5: Lift the back plate off of your TV. Locate the board that you will be removing.
- Step 6: Use a screwdriver to disconnect the board from the back of the TV. Disconnect all of the wires that are connected to the board.
- Step 7: Remove the old board and install the replacement. Replace the back cover when you are done.
