Not touch screen. I have hand tremors and for some reason I make touch screens go haywire. I also drop things a lot and the screen is not easy to break. very little prior use. Like new. ecstatic with purchase.

I have dexterity problems and cannot effectively use smartphones unless they have a really large screen so I tend to keep it simple. I am on call 24/7 so have to have a phone. I visited the Verizon store one day to look at "Feature Phones" (their term for "Dumbphones) and because I was looking at their small selection of Feature Phones, I got no help from the sales staff. So I went online and began researching for myself. This phone is well featured and quite inexpensive so I took a chance. All in all, it's a very good phone. It has everything I need and then some. The buttons are raised which helps me with my "problem". The voice quality seems as good as other phones I've had and the Nuance voice control works well. My only gripe with this (and other Samsung flip phones) is the external key lock function. I carry my phone in my pocket so it's prone to external button presses. The settings allows you to lock the external keys but the problem is, if you hit the right button combination on the external keys, you can unlock them. I had a Samsung Convoy 2 which had this same issue. The problem with the Convoy is that it has front external buttons which allow access to texting and other features without opening the phone. I am not sure who the genius is that thinks being able to unlock the phone without opening it is a good idea but I'd really like to meet him/her. It's the dumbest "feature" I've ever found on a cell phone and even though it is annoying on this Gusto 2, the worse thing it does is make beeping sounds or take pictures inside my pocket. I sent several random text messages with the Convoy 2 and it is now in a landfill somewhere. Samsung has some odd design engineers.Read full review
I bought this for my 94 year young mother to replace a samsung phone that she had for 22 years. This phone was similar to use so I thought it would be perfect. We took the phone to Verizon, they activated it and it works perfect. The charger, however, never did work. The cord that plugs in the phone seems to have a break inside and if not sitting just right, won't charge the phone. It is a pain, but for the money I paid for the phone, I can't complain too much. If you want a very simple, no frills phone, buy this one. It is a good phone for a parent to use for emergencies. It gives us peace of mind to know that mom has it.
It is a good phone for people who want a very basic, easy to use phone without any frills. It is easy to use and the screen is easy to read with large texts. Drawback: I've had a couple of these and the caller ID doesn't work right. The number comes up but some inputted names don't. This is inconvenient for people who want to avoid certain calls by name but can't necessarily remember the number. Other than that it's a good little phone for the money.
