This thing feels extremely high quality. No plastic anywhere. Very positive shifting, much more positive than any recent trigger shifters I've used, including XT and XTR ones (though some of the recent SRAM shifters come close). The clicks are loud and satisfying, like an IBM Model M keyboard. Will not be buying anything else anytime soon. I wish the shape of the shifter was more like the old Shimano ones, but my friend tells me these mounts will hold the Shimano shift lever, and I happen to have an old one with a broken mount, so.... awesome. I never understood why we moved away from thumb shifters - they're simple, light, intuitive... using them feels like a breath of fresh air mixed with nostalgia. That doesn't make any sense. Just go with it...

A little stiff in action initially, but there's really no reason that a set of these should cost over $100 anywhere. They are a super simple device. These have a nice, narrow clamp, sweet enough in and finish, strong build. Versatile positioning. Just the ticket for many applications -- flat bar road build, street-fighter, trekker, or old-skool mountain bike. Spend what you saved on wheels -- that will make the difference. Good enough for the girls I go with.

this is a good quality, basic shifter, you won't find any fancy finish or a selector window that tells you what gear you are in (never knew anyone that actually looked at those while riding) , in a way this is similar to using a bar end shifter that is mounted on a thumb shifter adaptor. I have found the well worth the money
