This is my third Fatmax flashlight. This purchase replaced my original Fatmax which I've had for many years and used daily. I keep one in the house and the other in the garage so I always have one nearby. This new one has a new feature which is the usb plug - used for recharging and for charging a cellphone. The brightness and distance it illuminates are what I love most about it.

Compact and very bright. Great deal for the money! Only complaint, when you squeeze trigger it goes to brightest beam first instead of low beam. You have to hold button in rear of unit before squeezing trigger to activate low beam. Would make sense to start low then switch to high if needed or install a low/high beam toggle switch to unit.

These are great! I have one in each of my vehicles for emergency's or what have you. We camp a lot and drive down a lot of back roads so it's great for spotting wildlife at night. It's very bright and you can adjust the brightness by pressing the switch. Very lightweight as well. We can also charge our cell phone off of it and can recharge it both in the car or at home so I feel it's very versatile. I'm an amateur astronomer so the red filter that comes with it may come in handy, I haven't thought to try it. Also haven't used the folding stand, but can see how it would come in handy. It comes with everything you need to keep it charged. I think when buying my first one I read complaints that they don't hold their charge very long. I haven't found that to be a problem, though, I don't have it on for hours at a time. As mentioned, I leave them in our vehicles and every time I pick one up to use it, the battery is charged (and I don't recharge them until they show signs of needing it).
