The Bower 85 mm f/1.4 lens is a manual-focus lens that offers an extra-large maximum aperture for achieving high levels of bokeh in a variety of settings. Due to its low aperture, the Bower lens can capture crisp shots even in low-light situations with lots of motion, such as concert photography. The Bower 85 mm f/1.4 lens is particularly effective in portrait applications, with a minimum focus distance of 3.8 feet. The angle of view of this manual-focus lens is 28.3 degrees. When used with 72 mm filters, the front ring does not rotate, so polarizing filters stay in the correct orientation regardless of aperture settings and focus. The Bower lens comprises nine elements in seven groups, which work to eliminate aberrations and distortion because all nine are multi-coated. In addition, an aspherical lens element eliminates internal reflections. The Bower 85 mm f/1.4 lens is lightweight in comparison with similar large-aperture lenses, weighing in at 1.15 pounds. The lens is compatible with all Sony digital SLR cameras.
