This is a nice little magazine for the rifle that was passed to me, without magazines. It holds the perfect amount of ammo for almost any situation that calls for less than 8 .22 caliber, rim fire bullets. It's easy to load, and flawlessly holds the bullets without dropping a single one, but yet is generous enough to feel the chamber of any rifle in the world that is capable of using this type of magazine.

I bought this as a back up magazine for my 52 year old J.C. Higgins Model 42 (same as the Marlin Model 80). Although it looks exactly the same as the original clip, it fits much tighter and is difficult to remove. I'm not sure if it's the fault of the magazine or the rifle.

Wasn't sure if it would fit when I ordered it. I have a 50 year old Sears branded Marlin. Some reviews said a rivet had to be filed down. I had no issues, was a perfect fit. Other than the follower being plastic, it is very close to being factory OEM.

Only tested one of the two mags I received, but it seems to work well. However, sometimes you have to apply a little upward pressure on the magazine to get the rounds to feed at the right angle. Overall, a good buy. I'm not aware of anyone making aftermarket mags for these rifles so factory is the way to go.

Glad to have found a brand new part for such an old rifle. Looks and acts just like the original. I think for what it is it might be a little pricey.
