Excellent cleaning!
This machine runs circles around the two other brands I had over the years. The suction is fantastic, the motorized brushes effective at quickly removing soil. Okay, now for the downside: it weighs a lot, if you are a smallish female or someone with physical limitations. I have a 2-story townhouse and two small dogs. Enough said? So, after buying the first unit and really liking it a lot, I caved in and bought a second one to keep upstairs so I don't have to carry a machine up and down. I know there is probably no way to lighten the weight without compromising its sturdiness. To the Rug Doctor folks I would add: I prefer to drag my machine by the extended handle, rather than push it. But the cord being on the back is problematic. When it comes free of the c-clamp that is part of the plug, you find you are running over the cord. Now obviously all one would have to do is keep it clamped. But the length of the cord needs to be lengthened or shortened by about 3", so it would clamp about mid-way along the wound cord. My first machine, when wound onto the cord holder, ends up with the clamp/plug right at the bottom. Then, when you tip the unit back to roll it, the plug comes free of the clamp and you run over the cord. Second point: the water reservoirs need a bit more in the way of a handle to grab when removing them to fill or empty. My fingers slip, esp. when wet. Works great, but....
when using it, it starts to eject a mist out of the exhaust. It fogs up the whole room. I first thought it was going to catch on fire, but I'm almost sure it's moisture. So worth this cleaning investment.
We bought this to clean our cars carpets since the dry vac doesn't cut it for snow and mud. This is so awesome, looks like some of those infomercials on TV when using it. Depending how dirty the carpet is, but you can see the carpet color change to its original state. We took it to our parents house and they were so impressed they wanted to by one, we ended giving them one for Christmas. Best extracting machine I've ever bought
This was purchased due to my mistake when I bought a carpet shampooer that didnt't have a built in attachment. I didn't even know they made them without attachments. So I was pleased to see there was a machine with only the attachment. This little machine is crazy good. It is light weight, super easy to tote around, very compact, easy to change out and fill the water (don't spill it the first time), cleaning capabilities that far surpass any other machine attachment I have used (I have had about 6 in 20 years) and the suction is 2nd to none. Stains are gone!
I've used the rug doctor once so far to remove coffee and food stains on my office chairs. The chairs look much better. A pro and a con is that where I used it the fabric is noticably brighter so I will have to go back and make sure I do the entire seat and seat back so it all looks brighter. (Which makes me wonder if I spot cleaned a rug would that area look brighter than the surrounding area and I would need to clean the entire rug?). A great machine
I am thoroughly impressed by this machine. I decided to upgrade my purchase from a Bissell Green Machine which I owned for years. The Rug Doctor has a motorized brush head that works rather well but I think could use a little improvement by having the motorized beater brushes a little longer. Good cleaning ability!
I bought this for detailing car interiors, used it twice, and so far it has done what I expected. The only drawback, is the suction hose could be a little longer. Good automotive "steam" cleaner
Used this primarily to clean my cars interior. I had previously vacuumed and used the foam carpet cleaners before trying this machine. Wow I was simply amazed at how much dirt this thing picked up.
