These are NOT the fancy new gel type which are pretty but difficult to use, stretch out of shape, and don't stay in place. I hope this style is ALWAYS available. I returned the gel ones. There are just some things that you cannot improve on because they work great in the current product.

Sizing a problem
The product itself is OK, but the sizing issue is a problem. My wife and I are small people with small hands, but the small size we purchased is only for children, who probably would have no need for such a product. The only other option was large, which we assumed would be for a large person with hands to match, maybe an NFL lineman or lumberjack. The sizing advice needs to be more specific.

Great for resizing large thimbles and sewing and leatherwork.
Odd as it sounds it's hard to find thimbles the right size. Rather than keep wasting money on thimbles that are too big I bought these after seeing them in a video. Put on the tip and put the thimble on over the tip. Cut off the excess rubber with sharp scissors. If need be you can glue the tip to the inside of the thimble to make it extra secure. No more thimble falling off while you stitch. I've been told the silicone tips don't work very well for this. From my own experience these rubber ones are great. As an added bonus wear tips on your thumb and index finger too. You can push the blunt end of the needle with the thimble and pull with the tips. You'll get a better grip on the needle without your fingers getting sore.Odd as it sounds it's hard to find thimbles the right size. I would be hard pressed to do my job without these Swingline Rubber Finger Tips
