I had a Mason Hamlin baby grand for 30 years that was a marvelous piano. When I downsized out of a house into an apartment, I no longer had the space, and had to sell it. I just purchased the Roland RD-2000 and am very happy with it. It has the same keyboard feel as the MH, and the sound quality is excellent. I am an intermediate player, but I know that my playing will advance at a much greater pace on this instrument because I can practice more diligently without worrying about bothering anyone. One of the biggest obstacles I have had to playing is feeling pressure that practicing scales, arpeggios, and hacking through complicated passages repeatedly was annoying my wife and daughter. I have not worked through the digital features to experiment with tone differences yet, because the stock Stage Grand tonality is fully satisfying for practice sessions to restore my fingers from several years of not playing because I did not have an inspiring instrument. I have a Roland PCR-800 midi controller that I have been making do with, but it just did not energize me because of the limited keyboard and un-piano feel of the keyboard. Now I have quality playability and sound resonance and am elated with the choice.Read full review

Phenomenal instrument... I will have countless years of fun. The feel is great... the sounds Awesome and there really is just no limit to the ways you can enjoy this keyboard. If you are gigging, remember to get a case... movement can get, "hairy," in even the most simplest space. I'm not advocating that it can't take a ding or two... but, for the money sent... I would personally just want my investment protected just a bit more. I'm off to go jam on this beauty.

I would say that the piano (both acoustic and electric) sounds are good but not great. The organs are decent but the rotary (leslie) effect is horrid (unusable). The rest of the onboard sounds are just okay. The real value of the keyboard is probably as a controller for use with something like Mainstage. The user programming and scenes are great but not easy to understand how to do. Manual is terrible - Youtube is a much better source for info. The graded hammer action is excellent though and the engineering seems very good.

Really great sound with newest technology. Portability somewhat limited. It's almost 50 pounds. Note that you need to get speakers to hear this or use headphones.
