I bought the Richard Simmons Cookbook Several weeks ago and love the different recipes and beautiful photographs. The one thing I dislike about this cook book is that if you are on the Richard Simmons program you need to know which windows to close or Cards to move for specific dishes, This does not tell you which cards move or windows to close for each portion. Unlike his origional Cookbook that tells you everything you need to know this book seems to geared more towards the general public rather than those who are on his program. Since I am on his program it doesn't meet my desired needs. But if you are just looking to cut calories and don't care about his program it would be a great book.
I have not tried any of the recipes yet, but I like to read about cooking these days. I collect cookbooks nowadays. I also collect photography, graphic design, and travel guides, and other non-fiction books. too. I am trying to lose a few pounds just to save myself. One day I will do a little cooking for me.

I don't care who you are - if you can watch Richard Simmons and not crack a smile, then you are hardcore. I love him. He is so energetic and so passionate about weight loss, especially in children. I have been through two bouts of weight loss and have always followed Richard Simmon's weight loss program and exercise videos. If you want to have fun losing weight - he is the key. This cookbook is a definite extension of Richard. It is wonderfully written, extremely optimistic and the food is excellent and not so "out there" that you can't make it. Everything is yummy and made with food you already have in your pantry. Buy it today and lose weight the Slimmon's Way.
This book has a lot of great recipes that my whole family will enjoy. The pictures are vibrant and enticeing and the recipes are strait forward and easy to follow. Before the recipes there is a breif chapter that gives lots of helpful information that gives a great foundation to work from so you can tweak the recipes as you'd like. One of the great features I like is how each recipe has the nutritional breakdown so you can monitor what your eating and there are additional notes in some of the recipes about substitutions you can use to make the meals even healthier. Overall this is one of the most comprehensive cook books I have come across and I would recommend it to any body weather they want to lose weight or just want something new that tastes great.
This is a MUSH HAVE for people who love Richard Simmons and use his diet plans. This book is chock full of YUMMY foods that will tickle the taste buds without making you feel guilty or pack on more pounds! Just follow Richards mantra of "watch your portion sizes" (which are clearly marked out on each recipie) and you will be on you way to a slimmer, happier YOU, without the pain and suffering of other diet plan's bland food!!! I love the way that Richard talks to you on every page and tells you stories about where this food comes from and/or how it got into his kitchen. Richard Simmons if a funny guy and this cookbook is almost cute enough to just sit down and read without cooking anything!
