Not exactly the same as shown in the picture also as original part as well; however it's functional That's why rating four stars.

The newer style factory Remington shot gun plugs slide back and forth in the magazine tube making a annoying noise. I took it out of my gun, then bought the old style from eBay that has the step up diameter on one end. This older style does not slide through the magazine tube and is silent.

I mean, it wasn't necessary to purchase this thing. I only did because my 11-87 Premier, which I bought pre-owned, didn't come with a magazine block for hunting and I didn't wanna put a wooden dowel in such a beautiful scattergun. Works with factory-sized magazine tubes for Remington 870, 11-87, and 1100. Not sure about the other models.

Item received is the new style, not the old style pictured. I was looking for the old style. Not a problem functionally, just a disappointment.

Can't get much easier in concept, just a plug to limit shells in the tube magazine for a Remington 870. Perhaps lighter than the old wood plugs and doesn't absorb moisture. Not sure yet if it rattles around when unloaded and the firearm is being carried. Good product.
