The Cocoa Café and its sequel, The Cocoa Café 2: A Year of Chocolate, are about a fictitious café in Tampa, Florida. The author, Nancy Slade, wove a story around the chocolate recipes found in both books. Several people who read both books asked Nancy why she didn't include recipes for the non-chocolate foods mentioned in the stories. They let her know that chocolate isn't the only flavor people enjoy eating. Nancy decided that another Cocoa Café book was in order. She gathered recipes that don't include chocolate as an ingredient but are delicious in their own way. The result is Recipes from The Cocoa Café - Beyond Chocolate.
