I must admit, when my wife & I first caught some reruns of Reba, we weren't impressed. Fortunately, there came a day when there was nothing else on TV & we were forced to check it out again. We stuck with it & in time Reba grew on us. Reba is now a favorite causing us to begin buying the series on DVD. Reba follows the everyday life of recently divorced mother Reba Hart, played of course by Reba McEntire. Reba must deal with a variety of issues caused by her children, her ex-husband & her ex's new wife who is his former mistress & caused the breakup of Reba's marriage. Season 2 continues on as Cheyenne & Van find newly wed life with a new baby nearly impossible! This only adds fuel to the fire for Kyra to take more pot shots at them. Kyra also delights in taking cheap shots at Barbara Jean. As much as Reba loves this, she must force Kyra to show respect. This is not easy as BJ is constantly over the house giving Reba much unwanted advise forcing Reba to take shots of her own. BJ battles hard to try to win Reba as a friend & Brock suffers through all this. Again, the lost character is young Jake who seems to only get plunked in as an after thought. We get snippets of Van's budding college football career, an injury that makes him think (Van? think?) about his future. Cheyenne continues to try to be "The Pretty One" despite her new born. Reba even sucks up her pride to go work for Brock to make ends meet, but eventually moves on to Brock's hated colleague. This all adds up to yet another season of insanity & hilarity at the Hart household! I highly recommend it!Read full review
The series is about all of the things Mom's every where are doing so most can relate. It is a serious subject but Reba keeps it light hearted most of the time. It is a comic looks at all of the problems that all parents deal with everyday and single Mom's especially can relate. I bought it for my mother who had a very bad health year and had not seen the series. It gave her a chance to forget how she felt and made her laugh. She is now one the fourth series. Reba has the wit of Rosanne and the comic expressions of Lucy. It make for a fun time! Way to go Reba, my favorite singer and now favorite actress.
Though I love this show I can't help wondering why Reba is doing all the financial supporting while Brock and his new Wife BJ play house with their new baby..their married with a baby older Daughter(hello, she has a hubby) wants to take summer classes so who foots the bill...Mommy..doing this knocks poor Kyra out of a trip she wanted to take...one she earned..does Brock offer to foot the bill for Kyras trip oh no, new Wife BJ needs a new house..are they homeless? no, can you see where I am going here?? Why isn't Brock helping to support his own kids..ever hear of child support? why isn't Van being a man and taking responsibility for his own Wife and child and why oh why is Reba letting them sponge off her?..I do love this series, but it upsets me that it shows kids they can make mistakes not pay for them, that someone mainly Mommy (and Daddy if he's worth a damn) will bail them out everytime..Reba even says as much in one episode! I give this show 4 out of 5 bars only coz it sends the wrong message!!Read full review
First of all , I love all Reba's programs. I had the first , third , and fourth series and could not find the second anywhere . Someone suggested ebay and I found it very quickly and I feel like I got it for a good price . I was thrilled to complete my sets. The second series is great too. Since then to my husbands dimay I have been hooked on ebay. I bought her Is There Life Out There and Forever Love.....I still need Secret to Sharing ......Yes, I would rate my second series of Reba excellent ..........
I purchased this Reba Season 2 disc set, because I recently discovered how much I enjoy and laugh at the half hour show on ABC Family. Each dvd in the set has a "Side A" and "Side B." I didn't like how it doesn't let you skit to the next episode. You have to skip through each scene in an episode to get to the next. Overall it is a good show and I can watch it whenever, so the little things don't bother me too much!
