The press is solid and well made. The scale is adequate, the powder measure is adequate, the hand primer had a quality problem and would small pistol primers would not feed most of the time and sometimes would stop the primer partially over the ram (not good if not noticed). RCBS customer service was great and replaced two parts that solved the problem. I would make the same purchase again, but be cautious with the hand primer if using small primers. That little plastic part that the primers pass through may not align with the end of the ram. If that happens, call customer service and in a few days you will have the replacement parts. It would be nice if the powder measure had a baffle in the plastic container and maybe a stand to hold the powder measure could be added to the kit.

I enjoy using this press. It's sturdy and built to last. Reloading 30-30 Win, 35 Rem, 308 Marlin Express, 30-06 Sprg, and 444 Marlin so far with no issues. The spent primer catching tray could fit better, but it still catches a high percentage of them. I was choosing between a Forster Co-Ax and this and went with the Rock Chucker because the neighbor likes his and the kit was at a good price.

What is wrong with RCBS? Years ago I bought an RCBS rock chucker press and started loading my own ammo. When times got hard I was forced to sell my Equipment. I retired about a year ago and bought a new Rcbs Rock Chucker kit and to my disappointment they took the case trimmer out and took the auto prime off and put in a hand priming tool that is a pain in the butt for some one who cant see as good as he use to. I was real put out with the kit as a hole. It's a tuff kit but they took something that worked smooth with fewer small parts and screwed it all up. The kit came with a set of RCBS dies for 30-06 but don't get excited they took out the factory crimp die and the shell holder so before you can even use them, you have to spend another $25 for the die and the shell holder. to decap is a pain as well because of the design change they changed the primer catch pans and you now have less room around the shell holder to pull a cartridge and re load another on the press with one hand. The priming tool is harder for an older person to use because you have to grip and squeeze a shit load of times to get them primed. Once there primed and ready to load its easier. I am disappointed with the manufacturer as a hole. I am thinking the engineer was the same one that put the dimmer switch on the column instead of on the floor board where it was sense the creation. I ordered a new press yesterday and guess what I bought a Lee, Till RCBS straightens up their fowl up I'm with Lee. Wonder if I can use the $75 dollar rebate on Lee stuff?Read full review

Very heavy press, exactly the type that is needed. All parts are high quality and everything working as expected.

Everything included in this kit is high quality - you'd expect nothing less. It's RCBS, one of the leading names in reloading. Very reliable. Really, its everything you need to get started except a table and some dies. Highly recommended.
