This is a great lens for the money. I use it as a walk around, wildlife photography lens. I'm just getting started with wildlife photography so I can't justify spending over a grand on a better lens right now. This lens gets me started and I am have been very happy with the images so far. Sure, you'll get some purple fringing on bright, backlit backgrounds (but not in every photo). The autofocus is slower and noisier than a pro-level lens. It's not supposed to be a $60 version of a name-brand f/4 lens. BUT, it will give you solid performance, great images and a decent zoom range (especially on a crop censor camera) for an itty bitty price. The size of this lens is just about perfect - not too big, not too small. It feels nice in the hand. It's a great starter lens for those who need a telephoto zoom, but who are on a tight budget.Read full review
I got the lens as Minolta Mount and use it on a Sony Alpha. Lens works very well. It is not the fastest lens when it comes to focus, but the zoom is nice, smooth and the image has good contrast. The macro feature from 200-300 is quite nice. Weight is fine. Works very well with Sony and my macro tube recognizes it just fine. I have to use a screw on hood as my other hoods for this size do not work. Overall, quite satisfied.
Price range was one good reason for me to buy this item. I like the zoom range also ,it meets all my needs because I can also use it as a macro lens, two in one.My only dislike is that it is not a really fast lens but for the price I can't complain.Compare to other products ,Ilike the ease to manual focus and zoom out.
Great lens. The macro feature is great with details.

The lens was not the model advertised. It was an LD not an LDO and is the lesser value lens according to online reviews
