A very handy product. Many features but the special feature is the ability to play dvds from all regions. The player is a good value and the features can be accessed from the front panel without the remote. The negative is the lack of an HDMI output that limits the player’s use on many HD TVs.

The image quality on this player is okay, but there are no component or HDMI connections. Not even an S-Video. The image quality can never get above 480i without them. This isn't even the biggest problem. The design quality looks great unless you touch it. A quick tap and you will notice that the metal is thin and cheap. I'm afraid that if I were to put a coaster on it that it would fold like an accordion. I had one other issue that probably won't be a big deal to most people, but it bugs me to no end. That is the bright blue light on the disc tray. It is so bright that I had to cover it with permanent marker just to make it tolerable. All in all, it is only reasonable to buy this if you have an old tube tv that you want to use to watch import DVDs. If you do happen to have a tv with HDMI, then you should go for the QFX VP-113. The build quality and annoying light are still there, but you will get a maximized image quality. Please do not buy this model if you can avoid it.Read full review

Very tidy package! Simple to use, plays European DVDs, as claimed. Commercial disks play fine. I find that because of the shallow disk tray, it can have a bit of a problem with some of my non-commercial disks (home-made) with labels added. The disk labels can find interference in the machine's disk carriage slot, if not the Label is not perfectly smooth or well centered. The Remote Control is quite tiny...has all the buttons the same size... which makes finding the Play - Pause - Stop and search buttons, quickly, not as easy as it could/should be. A very minor inconvenience.

DVD worked fine with the AU/NZ movie I wanted to see. I should be able to view a larger variety of foreign movie material. The bad- The unit has an ultra bright blue light that extends over have the unit's face. It has to face toward you in order to connect with the controller. Even covering the face with part of a brown paper bag to cut down the glare blocks the controller from communicating with the controller. My opinion is that the unit needs a small red light to let one know the unit is on. I'll use my regular dvd player except when viewing an "out of region" foreign film to keep from going blind.

The unit does what it says, and more, it plays all image types through USB, all files, happy with the fact I can finally view my UK, Russian, Arabic, and copied Asian DVDs while in Canada, Two things, remote needs practice to understand, but easy to use, and it is not an HDMI but quality still V. Good if not excellent. Thank you for an awesome product.
