I set this up with a 3TB disk in about 10 minutes. While the instructions could have been improved by some figures or photos, they were nonetheless written in good English and could be followed quite easily. They even provided a micro-screwdriver to deal with the extra-small screws. The disk fits snugly in the box, and the parts fit back together perfectly. Turned the power on, plugged the USB, and it works! To whomever designed this box - Kudos!

Nice cheap enclosure. Easy to setup and works well. The screw holes that hold the circuit board and the hard drive to the case are part of the plastic frame. If opened frequently they will wear out quickly. The holes should be metal bushings for durability. I just took a look at the description on ebay and it stated that it's made of sturdy aluminum, but it's actually plastic. Another issue I find with it is that it does not fit snugly in the desk stand. If you bump into it slightly it slides right out. Other than that it is a good enclosure if you leave whatever hard drive you put into it alone, as accessing it too much will wear out the screw holes and you might have to glue it to keep it closed. I encountered that problem in the past with enclosures that were made of metal and plastic, while changing out the drives a few times. I have a 2TB hard drive in this one, so I don't think I'll be upgrading it too soon. This enclosure can handle up to a 6TB hard drive. Read full review

Never thought about making an external hard drive device out of an internal hard drive until my old machine died and I was stuck with a newish drive. This was cheap, solid and easy. Will probably look at buying this in the future for my backup needs.
