    Presto 12 Cup Perxolator APPROVED

I am quite pleased with this product since we have been using it as our only coffee maker, retiring the Mr. Coffee coffee maker into storage. Being all stainless steel, the health hazards of plastic tubing and aluminum are avoided, and percolated coffee just smells and tastes so much better. Unplugging and reheating the coffee later is achieved by simply removing the basket and stem and plugging it back in. The Presto makes coffee really fast and really hot, so I can enjoy a cup longer than I used to with the other coffee makers. It appears to be very well made, not flimsy or cheap. Easy to clean, also. I simply rinse the parts in hot water and wipe the outside of the pot with a damp paper towel. I would recommend to any coffee lover this Presto percolator.

works fine most of the time

In the last weeks several times the percolator does not perk it only heats up the water . Not sure why other times it works fine . We also use it to make tea and several times the teabags are not even wet .

  • BEST coffee EVER!

I have been using Presto percolators for years. It was what we had when I was growing up. Of course, over the years, I went to electric drip coffee makers, and I used them for a good while. But for some reason I just decided to go back to "perking" and My Presto has been with me for almost 20 years. It is easy to clean , looks elegant, and makes the best coffee ever. "perking" is the way to go.The Presto has an indicator light but you really don't need it because when it stops perking it is done. I usually get unbleached filters, poke a hole in the middle with scissors, and line the Presto coffee filter with it. Just makes cleaning it a cinch. Rinse pat and parts every now and again with vinegar or run vinegar and water through it like a regular cycle. The coffee doesn't sit on a plate and ...

  • Percolator convert

I've always enjoyed a good cup of coffee, but it wasn't until I realized that the way the coffee is brewed is more important than the brand of coffee used. I found that I always like the way coffee tasted at a particular relative's home, and inquired about it. It was always made in an unfiltered percolator. After many disappointing cups of "good" coffee from drip makers , I was sold on this type of maker. Unfortunately, the model of the one I liked is no longer available and the company has questionable quality standards now, so I researched and compared many units. I can't say that this one is better, but it's certainly as good and as advertised.

  • One of the better contemporary percolators.

I have used electric percolators for decades; usually older models, made in the USA. When you use an older piece of equipment you can never tell how long they will last. This was made in China, and while I don't see a date on it, I wouldn't call it vintage. I thought is was older and made in USA when I bought it. That said, I look for certain things in a percolator. All stainless, quick brew, easy clean and the amount of coffee that is used to brew (it varies tremendously by model). This appears to be all stainless. Some have aluminum baskets or stems, or even smaller parts of stems. ...
