Useful device, would buy again
I'm not sure it truly is capable of lifting a 3 pound object. It can barely handle a can of soup when fully extended. The design is a bit flimsy for a device intended to lift anything substantial, but the magnet is very strong and it comes in quite handy when, for instance, that little screw drops out of sight and/or reach. It serves my purposes.

Might be good for picking up a single screw or nail. Not useful for picking up anything even close to a pound in weight. I can't even lift a screwdriver with this, for example.

Great Picker-Upper!
This is a great little tool. I keep it in a pocket on my power wheelchair to help me pick up little things I drop. Because it will pick up three pounds, I can pick up a dropped can at the supermarket, or my keys, or anything in between. Shipping was quick, too. Thanks!
