Some classy Latin soul music - live recordings of some of the Latin percusssion master's most famous interpretations. Sometimes it all sounds a bit familiar (Watermelon Man seems to be a tune that gets interpreted the same way every time) but there is a crack band of brass players ringing the solo changes (Scott Martin's superb flute on Guaripumpe, Francisco Torres' raunchy trombone on Lisa and some wonderful sax interplay on Mama Guela) and fluent rhythmic piano throughout from David Torres. And leading it all is Poncho Sanchez, a great, great drummer - try his solo over the percussive piano on Lisa for an expose of the art. Great stuff.
The price was great, it got here quickly, and the CD is in perfect condition. What a great addition to my music. Thanks a bunch to all concerned.
