I've tested the adapter on two computers. One is old and one is a newer laptop. With the newer one it works like a charm there is no real noticeable lag. It is only visible when I tested a video on the second screen. It ran the videos fine but the audio seemed to be behind a bit. On the older computer it said the adapter was not working with the graphics setup of the computer. I could ignore this and the second screen still worked. It was overall a tad slower. And in video playback you could see a bit of a lag even in the video frames. Overall as USB adapters are not for video playback I would recommend this to anyone for regular use as a second monitor.

I've been trying to find a reasonably priced converter/connector for a 3rd monitor for years. The closest I found was something that really only recognized the 3rd monitor, then provided a pretty bad quality image. This Plugable gives as quality a display as my other 2. It uses the DVI port to convert to a USB connection for my computer. I only needed to go to a USB, so I don't know or care how it works for VGA or HDMI. I'm guessing it's just as good.

I have an older All-In-One PC that has a non-functional screen (flickers to the point of not being able to vie the screen) but still functions otherwise. I used this device to add two additional monitors to it and works well. No complaints thus far!

I work from home; my company PC is a Dell laptop, with two DVI ports. I have five UGA-2K-A units hanging off my docking station, to run the total of 7 1080p monitors in front of me. They are indistinguishable from the native DVI from the laptop itself. I've been using this arrangement for 8 years without a problem. Once the DisplayLink driver is on the computer, plugging an additional one in is seamless.

It's very good solution and works well for my windows laptop and Mac Mini 2012. For some reason the screen has some flicks with VGA convertor, but it works fine with HDMI convertor, and that's all I need.
